13 Things Wendy remembers about the day Christiana (Her 1st Bundle of Joy) was Born…

1. It was October 5, 2001, a dull rainy morning…
2. My labour pains started at around 5:45 am or so. They weren’t really very painful, more uncomfortable, a dull throbbing, which was atleast 30 minute apart. Even managed to doze in between…
3. By around 7:00 am, they were getting more painful and were around 8 minutes apart.
4. Along with me, I had my younger sister Sarita, my mother in law, my husband, & my aunt Dorothy. My sister made a call to some friends to pick us up & take us to the hospital.
5. My mom & dad were in the USA, as my twin sister Amanda had just delivered her first born a few weeks earlier.
6. My sister Sarita, came with me to the hospital, stayed with me in the labour room right upto the birth.
7. My husband was too chicken to stay with me. He lasted a total of 5 minutes in the labour room, before he disappeared after giving me a kiss on the forehead…
8. My Aunt Dorothy, said the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, kneeling down in the Labour Room.
9. Christiana was born at 9:45 am, She weighed in at 3.3 kgs (I think a little over 7 pounds). Apgar score 10.
10. As soon as she was born, the rain stopped and the sun came out… It didn’t rain the that whole day again…
11. My husband was the 1st to carry her, even though he was initially terrified of holding her (lest he hurt her…)
12. I fell in love with my baby within a second of her being born…
13. The first thing I said, as soon as she was born… “Good Ralph will be very happy… He wanted a Girl…” (We didn’t know if it would be a boy or a girl…)

Nice memories. Sounds like it was as good as any labor could be. I hope my husband doesn’t wuss out of the birth =)

Very nice memories you have. That baby is so cute. What baby isn’t anyway. It was funny for your husband to chicken out. Most men do especially when they see their love ones in pain.
Thanks for dropping by.

I don’t have children, so I can’t relate. Must be great to have such fond memories!
My TT is about happy things.

What an adorable child. Isn’t it amazing how fast they grow up? Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.
