Yesterday was Women’s day… I am a day late… but in honour of the occassion here’s my Composition dedicated to God’s most superior creation!!!
It was composed by me last year on women’s day….
TODAY’S WOMAN
As fresh as the rising morning sun
Working tirelessly till her work is done
So many roles to play, so much to do
Each day’s chores challenge her anew
Her chin is up, shoulders braced high
Her attitude to life is ‘Never say die’
She’s a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend
A wife, a lover, loyal and steadfast, right to the end
Tender as she holds her babe in her arms
So enticing when she’s all set to display her charms
So fierce as she protects the ones she might love
When required, a ministering angel from above
Whether she’s at work, or just at play
She’ll find a way to brighten your day
Of course, she has needs and dreams, a few
A good friend, a lover, an ambition or two
God created woman, to fulfill a plan
He knew how incomplete would be a man
He gave him a helper, a constant support
A love to come home to, like a ship to a port
Wow, I didn’t know you could write poetry like that! That is excellent, Wendy, well done. And happy belated woman’s day to you too! Hurray for us!
Great poem Wendy! but then I always knew you were very talented.
You confidence shines through your words Wendy. Clever rhyming. It’s nice that women are recognized for their strengths and contributions. Acceptance begins inside us.
